Cow therapy cures cancer, claims GoVigyan Anusandhan Kendra

NAGPUR: Entering the debate on curing cancer using ‘cow therapy’, the GoVigyan Anusandhan Kendra (GVAK), an institute dedicated to scientific research on cow-based lifestyle, has claimed that cow therapy cures cancer.
Officials of the institute, based at
Deolapar, 88km from Nagpur, brought some patients, many case studies, scientists and doctors from various central laboratories before the media on Monday. They countered the statement by oncologists of Tata Memorial Center, Mumbai, that there was not a shred of evidence to show that cow urine or other cow-based products are useful in cancer treatment.
A team of doctors from Tata Memorial Centre had slammed BJP’s Bhopal candidate Sadhvi Pragya Thakur for ‘misguiding’ patients after she claimed to have beaten cancer through a combination of cow urine and other cow products. Cow therapy includes consumption of distilled form of cow urine (Gaumutra Ark) along with a range of tablets and powders made of cow milk, curd, ghee, and cow dung.
“We have hundreds of case studies from last 20 years to show that cancer has been cured completely by these cow-based products,” said Vaidya Nandini Bhojraj, dean of GVAK. “Just like any other doctor practicing modern medicines, we can claim that cow therapy offers a near-normal, peaceful, painless and progressive life for cancer patient,” she said.
President of GVAK Dr Hemant Jambhekar claimed that the institute has proper documentation of many patients declared officially ‘cancer free’ by Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Regional Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, Nagpur, after undergoing treatment at GVAK.
“We have case studies with us. Many patients were referred for chemotherapy and radiation. They came to us when their cancer was in second or third stage. Most of them were cured. These include patients of breast cancer, oesophagus cancer, oral cancer, and cervix cancer,” he said.
Eighty-five-year-old Parvatibai Burde, a patient of cervix cancer, claimed before the media that she was cured by cow therapy. “I was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, when I was 83. After six cycles of radiation, I refused that painful treatment and came to GVAK. Here, I am undergoing only cow-therapy from last three years and I am absolutely fine,” she said. Seventy-year-old Shalini Tarsekar, who had breast cancer, also shared a similar experience.
Dr Mahendra Darokar, senior principal scientist, who leads the department of Molecular Bio-Prospection at Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), a Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) affiliate institute, said cow urine has its own anti-cancer activity. “It has been proven that cancer-like lifestyle based diseases are due to free radicals and we need antioxidants to nullify them,” he said. Dr Darokar added cow urine is way better than alkaline water, which is gaining huge popularity in modern medicine these days.
Coordinator of GVAK Sunil Mansinghka said they have five international patents on this subject. “Our research work provided us amazing results. It is not only us who were impressed with the results but the entire world had to take notice of our research. US and China have awarded us patents for our research on cow urine as medicines for humans,” he said.
